Day 1: Rishikesh to Joshimath

Day 2: Joshimath to Dhak Village

Joshimath to Dhak Village | Trek to Gulling Top

Trek Distance: 6 km (4–5 hours)
Trek Terrain: Moderate ascent on rocky paths through dense oak and rhododendron forests

Your day begins with a short drive from Joshimath to Dhak Village, the starting point of the trek. The trail gradually ascends through picturesque forest sections and traditional mountain settlements before opening into the serene meadow of Gulling Top. Known for its peaceful surroundings and impressive views of the surrounding peaks, Gulling makes for a perfect campsite to unwind and acclimatize for the days ahead.

Day 3: Gulling Top to Khullara Top

Altitude: 3,400 m
Trek Distance: 5 km
Time: 4–5 hours
Trek Terrain: Steeper ascent through oak, pine, and rhododendron forests, gradually opening into the wide meadows of Khullara
Meals: Breakfast, packed lunch, dinner

The trail to Khullara brings you through dense forest sections before emerging into expansive alpine meadows with stunning views of snow-clad Himalayan peaks. Khullara is known for its peaceful open landscapes, making it an ideal spot to rest, rejuvenate, and acclimatize before the ascent to Kuari Pass.

Day 4: Khullara Top to Kuari Pass

Time: 6–7 hours
Trek Terrain: Gradual ascent, often through snow depending on the season

This is the most rewarding day of the trek, as the route leads you to the iconic Kuari Pass—one of the finest viewpoints in the Indian Himalayas. The panoramic sweep of peaks is unmatched and makes the effort worthwhile. After soaking in the views, you’ll retrace your trail back to Khullara Top for a comfortable night’s rest.

Day 5: Khullara Top to Dhak Village

Khullara Top to Dhak Village via Gurson Bugyal & Auli | Drive to Joshimath

Trek Distance: 9 km
Time: 6–7 hours
Drive Distance: 14 km
Trek Terrain: Long descent through the vast alpine meadows of Gurson Bugyal, mixed forests, and the famous ski slopes of Auli
Meals: Breakfast, packed lunch, dinner
Overnight Stay: Guesthouse/Hotel in Joshimath

Notes:
This final leg of the trek offers an incredibly scenic descent, taking you across the beautiful Gurson Bugyal and the well-known slopes of Auli. Once you reach Dhak Village, a short drive brings you back to Joshimath by late afternoon, where you can relax and enjoy your last evening in the mountains.

Day 6: Joshimath to Rishikesh

Travel Distance: 256 km
Time: 8–9 hours
Route Highlights: The return journey follows the same winding mountain roads, offering serene views of river valleys and lush landscapes.
Meals: Breakfast

You’ll begin your drive from Joshimath early in the morning for the journey back to Rishikesh. Along the way, you can pause at scenic viewpoints or visit local temples, making your return stretch both relaxing and memorable.
